High-salt and processed food consumption represents one of the most well-established dietary risks. Excessive sodium intake directly damages gastric epithelial cells, promoting chronic inflammation and impairing mucosal repair mechanisms. Gastric cancer is not an inevitable consequence of aging—it is largely preventable. Public health initiatives, clinician education, and patient empowerment around lifestyle modification, timely H. pylori testing and treatment, symptom awareness, and risk-stratified screening are essential pillars of a comprehensive prevention strategy.
