The most effective strategy for sustained glycemic stability isn’t calorie counting or macro tracking alone—it’s food literacy. Clinicians consistently advise patients to scrutinize the Nutrition Facts label: prioritize items with ≤5 g of total carbohydrates per 100 mL (for beverages) or ≤15 g per serving (for solids), and verify that “added sugars” are listed as 0 g.
