In some cases, the white material may be reparative dentin—a secondary layer formed by odontoblasts in response to chronic irritation, such as longstanding caries or repeated thermal stress. This dentin is denser and more mineralized than primary dentin, contributing to its brighter, more opaque appearance. Less commonly, it could reflect calcified debris within the pulp chamber, dystrophic calcifications, or even remnants of dental materials like calcium hydroxide liners placed during prior restorative procedures.
It is important to emphasize that any visible intraoral discoloration or structural change warrants professional evaluation.
