Clinically, ginger is most consistently effective for the prevention and treatment of nausea and vomiting, particularly in pregnancy-related morning sickness, postoperative nausea, and chemotherapy-induced nausea. Randomized controlled trials demonstrate that oral ginger supplementation (typically 1–1.5 g daily in divided doses) significantly reduces symptom severity compared with placebo, without adverse effects on fetal development or surgical recovery.
